Anacreon Papageorgiou is a guitarist, arranger, and conductor who has mainly worked in the world of theatre. In 1996-’97, he conducted the production ‘Vira tis ankures’ in the Municipal Theatre in Athens. He also wrote songs for Costoula Mitropoulou.

Papageorgiou was the arranger and conductor of the 1997 Greek Eurovision entry ‘Horepse’, a heavily ethnically influenced song performed by Marianna Zorba. It was the last-ever Eurovision Song Contest effort with live musicians on stage playing along with the orchestra.
